Donald L Chancellor

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald L Chancellor in Elk City, on May 23, 2023, at the age of 90. He was born in Leedey, to Cliff and Rada Chancellor on July 6, 1932.

Donald grew up in Mountain Park and at the age of 18 he enlisted in the Navy, serving in Korea for four years. After proudly serving his country, he continued his education with both a bachelor's and master's degree. Don retired as a high school principal and girls' basketball coach.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Cliff Chancellor and Rada Chancellor; his wife Iris Chancellor; and his sister Lela Buffaloe.

He is survived by his children: Obie Chancellor, Bo Chancellor of Gotebo. and Donde Pruitt (Mike) of Blanchard; and his grandchildren: Megan Lafferty of Elk City, Kasie Hamlin (Seth) of Muskogee, Brandon Pruitt (Haley) of Rockwall, Texas, Summer Nault (Lee) of Phoenix, Arizona, Afton Luttrell (Laramie) of Mountain View, Ashley Kraham (Daniel) of Mountain View, Skyla Burcum of Carnegie, Leah Clark (Byron) of Carnegie, Angel Hughes of Carnegie, Brandon Hughes of Mountain View, Jaden Skinner of Carnegie and Cody Hughes of Sallisaw. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, family, and friends.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Gotebo First Baptist Church with burial at the Mountain Park Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Mountain View.
