Lindle David "Tip" Strutton

Graveside service for Lindle David “Tip” Strutton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Rogers Cemetery, Southwest of Snyder with his nephew Trevor Anthony and life-long friend David Tyler officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his son Byron Scott Strutton.

Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

With great sadness we announce we have lost our dad, pop, uncle and brother, Lindle David “Tip” Strutton on May 27, 2022. Some knew him as L.D. Tip was born February 19, 1945, to William Cooper Strutton, III and Ella Lucille Bollin in Cordell.

He was raised in Snyder where he attended school and excelled in all sports. He was popular and well-liked. Tip married Wilma Jane Ervin on July 1, 1964, and had three sons: David Wayne Strutton and Beth of Burleson, Texas, Byron Scott Strutton who was stillborn, Rodney Clark Strutton and Billie of Duncan, and one daughter, Leah Denise Anthony and Bruce of Tuttle.
Most of Tip’s life was spent as a carpenter although he also drove a delivery truck for Pepsi, ran a skating rink and bowling alley, became a butcher, roofed homes with brother-in-law Berl Ervin, worked for the Frisco Railroad with brother-in-law David Tyler and was an insurance adjuster at one point. Tip helped build and remodel Children’s Hospital and the original Oklahoma Memorial Hospital for the State of Oklahoma. He remodeled Sonic Drive-Ins across the nation with his son, David Strutton and grandson Trevor Anthony.

Tip is survived by his sons: David and Rodney, his daughter Leah, one brother Ronnie Clark of Duncan, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Flowers may be sent to Becker-Rabon Funeral Home in Lawton. Family and friends are respectively invited to attend.
