Wayne Bates

Graveside service for Wayne Bates will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Mountain Park Cemetery with Andrew Duarte, Saved by Grace Ministries, Mountain Park, officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.

Curtis Wayne Bates, 62, Snyder, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Snyder. He was born November 17, 1959 in Roswell, New Mexico to Curtis Wendell and Linda Sue (Clark) Bates.

Wayne lived in Snyder all of his life and attended Snyder schools. He retired from SKF after 24 years, and then became the Supervisor for the City of Snyder Streets Department, where he worked until his death. He served on the Snyder Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years as a firefighter. Wayne enjoyed family time and especially spending time with his grandson Cody. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife Carla S. Bates, daughter Kassandra Bates of Lawton, his sister Dyann Stanley and husband Randy of Snyder, his brother Dale Bates and wife Loretta of Georgia, his grandson Cody Nelson Stanley and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Caitlin Bates.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial contributions to Wayne be made for his grandson, Cody Nelson Stanley, c/o All America Bank, Snyder, Oklahoma.
