Snyder City Council held routine meeting
The regular September meeting of the Snyder City Council was held Monday evening with Mayor Rodney Bartlett, Eddie Fletcher, David Rhodes and Thomas Peevyhouse attending.
A brief, required public hearing regarding REAP grants through SWODA for lift station retrofits was held before the regular council meeting. No public comments were received.
The council approved payment #2 for $218,818.95 to finish out the first contract for the Sewer Line Replacement project with Krapff-Reynolds Construction. Payment #2 for the second contract was also approved in the amount of $371,284. The project is expected to be completed next month.
A final payment was approved to Myers Engineering Invoice #221252-7 in the amount of $1,837.50 for Construction Engineering Services for the CDBG Sewer Project.
A second payment of $6,300 to Myers Engineering Invoice #222130-1 was approved for Engineering Services to apply for funding for a Water Meter System Replacement Project.
Another payment of $3,494 to Myers Engineering Invoice #222131-1 was approved for Engineering Services to apply for funding for Primary Lift Station Retrofit.
The council also approved updates to city code to reflect changes to the Competitive Bidding Act. An item regarding the Snyder Municipal Swimming Pool had been included on the agenda upon request, but it was not addressed due to lack of information at the time of the meeting.
A Volunteer Fire Fighter Application from Johnathan Blake Buxton was approved, and the Fire Department reported four grass fires and one car fire.
The minutes of the August 18 regular meeting and August financial reports were approved, and the council meeting adjourned at 5:18 p.m.
Public Works Authority
The SPWA approved Myers Engineering Contract Amendment #1 to add work for the Chloramine Study and Report, as well as the Chloramine Facility Design. Lump sum fees will be $10,000 for the study and $27,000 for design. Chloramine treatment has been recommended to improve water quality and stay in compliance. This step is also necessary to be considered for the grant for upgrading water meters.
A Deed/Donation of Land adjacent to the North Park identified as Parcel #7001-00-031-006-0-000-00 Original Snyder Block 321, Lots 6 and 7 from Robert and Barbara Meyers was accepted.
Bids were reviewed for water plant fence removal and replacement, but the item was tabled until a fencing company representative can visit the site.
The consent agenda with the August 18 regular minutes and August financial reports was approved and the meeting was adjourned.
