On Saturday, November 26, 2022, Joe Bill Lorance of Shawnee, Oklahoma, loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away of COVID-19 at 68 years old. He was born to Wayne and Norma Lorance on May 5, 1954, in Borger, Texas. Joe graduated from Mulhall-Orlando High School in 1973. He secretly quit attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University to run a service station, eventually owning Joe’s Phillips 66 in Sayre, Lorance’s Texaco in Shawnee and Lorance’s Texaco and Talamo RV Park in Purcell.

Joe married his high school sweetheart Darla Gene Roberson on July 23, 1974, and after a mutual hiatus of 17 years, he remarried her on July 23, 2009. Together they raised three sons, Jay Patrick (Tina), Cody Christopher (Katherine) and Joe Robert Wayne (Alicia), a daughter Casey Gena Ann and granddaughter Addyson Ainsley Joe. Joe lived in many places and thought of any place near family as home. A huge sports fan, he faithfully rooted for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He arranged beautiful garden spaces wherever he stayed. Joe provided fun conversation, a listening ear and humble compassion to friends and family of multiple generations. Loved by Jesus, Joe put his trust in his Creator and now is enjoying God’s home.

He is survived by his wife Darla, his four children, fourteen grandchildren: Zachary, Devon, Nicholas, Christopher, Hannah, Paolo DeNobili, Jeremiah, Harrison, Kairi, Breanna, Annmarie, Addyson, Hadley & Christian Jayce; his brothers: Steven, Dennis (Teresa) and Michael (Cindy), and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lue Ann.
