Funeral services for Barbara “Barbie” Carpenter were held Monday, December 5, 2022, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel with Charles King, Minister of the Church of Christ, Snyder officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder.

Barbara “Barbie” Carpenter, 80, of Snyder passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Snyder. She was born on May 30, 1942, in Snyder to J.D. and Etta Hamilton. She grew up on a farm west of Snyder. On August 16, 1959, she married the love of her life Carl Carpenter in Vernon, Texas. They were married almost 50 years until Carl passed away on November 9, 2008. She and Carl worked together all their married life. She worked for the Lugert-Altus Irrigation District, the Headrick CO-OP and Vernon CO-OP as office manager. She retired in 2003 and they moved back to Snyder. She was a member of the Snyder Church of Christ. Barbie was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Greg and Julie Carpenter of Headrick, two grandsons and their wives, Justin and Teddie Carpenter of Altus, Oklahoma, Tyler and Taylor Carpenter of Frederick and great- granddaughter Kaylee Carpenter of Altus. She is also survived by her sister Juanita Hyde of McLoud, her brother-in-law Bill Holland of Snyder, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Etta Hamilton, husband Carl, a sister Louise Holland, brother Wayne Dee Hamilton and her brother-in-law Jimmy Hyde.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Fairlawn Cemetery maintenance and upkeep at PO Box 185, Snyder, OK 73566.
