Candidate filing for municipal offices begins February 6
Candidates interested in filing for municipal office in seven Kiowa County municipalities will file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, February 6.
Terri Meinert, Secretary of the Kiowa County Election Board, said Declaration of Candidacy forms must be completed and submitted to the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 8 when the filing period ends. Meinert reminds voters that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than Friday, February 10 and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate files unopposed.
Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted for the following offices:
Hobart- 2 Council Members-Ward 1 & 2- 4-year terms
Lone Wolf- 2 Board of Trustees-4-year terms
Gotebo- 2 Board of Trustees-4-year terms and Town Clerk-4-year term.
Mt. View- 2 Board of Trustees-4-Year terms and 1 Trustee Unexpired 2-year term.
Roosevelt- 2 Board of Trustees-4-Year terms and Town-Clerk Treasurer 4-year term.
Mt. Park- 1 Board of Trustees-4-Year term.
Snyder- 2 Council Members-Ward 3 & 4-4-Year terms, 1 Council Member-Ward 2 Unexpired 2-year term and Mayor 4- Year term

The municipal offices at stake in Hobart, Lone Wolf, Gotebo, Mt. View, Roosevelt, Mt. Park and Snyder will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 4, 2023.
The Kiowa County Election Board is located at 215 N. Lincoln, Hobart and regular business hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
