Clifford Donnel Sims, 59, of Snyder passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, February 2, 2023, after a difficult battle with cancer. He was born on Friday, June 7, 1963, to Sylvester Sims Jr. and Helen Jean (Ewing) Sims in Slaton, Texas.

Clifford attended Tahoka schools. After his high school years, he learned the plumbing trade as well as several other trades. In spite of the fact that he never attended college, you would find yourself hard-pressed to stump him on any question as 99.9% of the time he had the correct answer. He loved playing dominoes and cards, watching football and car racing, but most of all, he loved entertaining his family. Clifford loved children. His three nephews, Timothy, Brock and Caleb, were always wanting him to tell them a story. The story they most wanted to hear was about a monkey that escaped a circus. After escaping, the monkey spanked a dog named Tip. Clifford was the best uncle any child could ask for and was also a fabulous great-uncle to his four nieces.

Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Ruby Gittens-Sims; his father, Sylvester Sims Jr.; his aunt/mother, Mary Smith of Snyder; two sisters: Sylvia Greathouse and husband, Timmie, of Snyder; Lisa Lindsey and husband, Stanley, of Altus; brother, Jimmy Smith and wife, Misty, of Snyder; an uncle in Lubbock, Texas; three uncles and one aunt in Dimmit, Texas; three aunts and one uncle in Denton, Texas; step-son, Carl, of Tulsa; a sister, Thelma Anderson and husband, Eugene, of Lawton; and two sisters-in-law in Lawton.

He is preceded in death by his mother, a sister, his paternal and maternal grandparents, three uncles of Dimmit, Texas, one uncle and aunt of Tahoka, Texas, two aunts of Lawton, and one aunt of Lovington, New Mexico.
