The family greeted friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Our precious wife, mother, Nana, sister, and aunt passed away Saturday evening, November 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in Lawton. LaVonda was the first-born daughter born July 15, 1955, in Dumas, Texas, to Bobby and Dorothy (Harris) Kellison. LaVonda attended school and graduated as a Frederick Bomber in 1973. She furthered her education at Altus Jr. College; upon graduation, she was employed by Dr. Horton.

She married the love of her life Jackie Kopp on June 11, 1976, in Altus. From the spark of this genuine love came two amazing boys Kevin Allen and Kenny Shane. Their love story was one for the books that lasted 47 remarkable years, where they loved, nurtured, and served each other every minute of their lives.

LaVonda was proud to be a stay-at-home mom for many years chasing after the boys. When they became old enough to be self-sufficient, she chose to reenter the workforce and became the Snyder City Clerk to serve the community she so loved. In September 1996, LaVonda joined her Manitou work family at the Southwest Oklahoma Juvenile Center. LaVonda retired from the juvenile center on October 31, 2022, to resume her title of stay-at-home wife and Nana.

LaVonda was her boys’ biggest fan and supported them at every sporting event earning the title “The Cowbell Ringin’ Momma.” Throughout her life, she always opened her home, fridge, couch, and arms to anyone that was in need. LaVonda was a God-fearing Christian woman that prayed faithfully for each and every trial her family faced. LaVonda loved her family to no end and was considered the matriarch of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bobby and Dorothy Kellison, brother Robert Kellison, and Ray and Millie Harmon.

She is survived by her husband Jackie Kopp of Snyder; sons: Kevin and wife Janie of Roosevelt, and Kenny and wife Deja of Snyder; sisters: Deanie Breeze and husband Rodney of Snyder and Carla Schulz of Frederick; a special cousin that was raised as a sister, Reanonda Miller and husband Mike of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Kari Kopp of Snyder, Mason Kopp of Weatherford, Ryan Kopp of Lawton, Isaiah, Kyrie, and Jaylah Kopp of Snyder, and one great-grandson Easton Kopp of Snyder. Also nieces and nephews: Brandi Mosley, Brandon McCarty, Tabetha Alaniz, Bryan Norton, and Jared Schulz; great-nieces and nephews: Bailee and Justus Moeller, Weston McCarty, Ronnie Alaniz, Ashton and Kevin Norton, and Heather and Abby Schulz.
