Phillip Thurlow Combs

Memorial Service for Phillip Thurlow Combs, age 83, of Snyder, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Snyder, with Rev. Landon Warren officiating. Mr. Combs passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his home in Snyder.
Phillip Thurlow Combs was born September 24, 1940, to Thurlow "Bud" Weed and Gurthie Wraye (Perryman) Combs in Hobart. He attended the first grade at Mountain Park Public School, then he moved to Roosevelt, where he completed the rest of his school years.
Phillip was united in marriage to Ruby Lee Ham on June 30, 1960, in Roosevelt. Phillip and Ruby were married for sixty-three years. One son was born to this union, Phillip Lee Combs. Phillip worked for the Snyder Stockyard for twelve years, then went to work at the Snyder Animal Clinic where he retired after fifty-three years. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and all the people he worked with at the animal clinic.
Phillip enjoyed going to the Cattlemen’s Restaurant in Oklahoma City with his sister and her husband where they celebrated several birthdays. He cherished being PawPaw to his granddaughters and great-grandchildren. They thought he was the most wonderful PawPaw ever.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Ruby, of the home; his son, Phillip Lee Combs and his wife Karee of Snyder; two granddaughters: Tarah Leigh Esquivel and her husband Richard of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ashley Shae London and her husband Brock of Sapulpa; two great-grandchildren, Ashton Nicole Esquivel and Devin Phillip Esquivel of Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister, Linda Gann and her husband James of Snyder; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Wraye Combs; one brother, John Challis (Johnny) Combs; four sisters, Roberta Dean Harrison, an infant sister, Dorothy Louise Hennecy, and Jean Combs.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Snyder, in loving memory of Phillip Combs.
