Gaylon (Buck) Albert Cook, 85, of Roosevelt, Oklahoma died on February 11, 2024. He was born on June 4, 1938, in Mountain Park, Oklahoma to Fred Willard and Fern Lucille (Atchley) Cook.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, in Roosevelt. Interment will be in Roosevelt Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home in Hobart, Oklahoma from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 14 and 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Thursday, February 15, no family will be present.

Buck grew up and attended school in Roosevelt, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1956. He married Lou Ann Hester on January 24, 1958, at his parents’ house in Roosevelt. Buck worked as a mechanic at the Talley-Pontiac Car Dealership in Roosevelt. He also owned and operated Cooks Harvest Crew.

During his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He also took ponies around to carnivals and put on pony rides for the children. Buck loved his children and grandchildren, trying to make all sports games. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife Lou Ann Cook, Roosevelt, children: Gayla Miller, Roosevelt, Debbie Hopkins, Altus, Oklahoma, grandchildren: Stacy Bartel & husband Matt, Weatherford, Oklahoma, Chris Miller & wife Ashleigh, Roosevelt, Chassity Allen & husband Matt, Roosevelt, Tanner Hopkins & wife Ashley, Booker, Texas, Haylee Stoup & husband Brian, Altus, 13 great-grandchildren, his brother: Joel Cook & wife Deanna, Texas, sisters-in-law: Carolyn Martin, Roosevelt, Danny Lou Cole, Roosevelt, aunt: Phyllis Stockton, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, also numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Fred Willard and Fern Lucille Cook and sister: Paula Cook.
