Funeral services for William Allen Jackson, 97, Roosevelt, OK, will be at 2 p.m., Thursday (today), May 16, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Roosevelt. Interment will be in Mountain Park Cemetery, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, OK.

Willie went to his heavenly home on May 10, 2024. He was born on June 7, 1926, to Francis Carrol and Lona (Brannon) Jackson, in Cold Springs, OK, being one of 10 children. Willie grew up and attended school at Con 8, graduating in 1945. He served in the US Marine Corp from 1945 to 1946.

He was inducted in Oklahoma City, OK, into the Navy and from there he was picked and placed into the Marines. He attended basic training at Paris Island, South Carolina. He was sent to Boston to guard the Air Base for 3 months in the wintertime. He then was assigned to the Advance Training in San Diego, California, where they were prepared to go to China. Later, he was attached with the 1st Battalion Infantry stationed to Sing-TA-China at the close of WWII.

Willie then graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1952. He married the love of his life, LaVeta Norine Goodin, on August 5, 1949. Together they made their home in Roosevelt, raising their four children: Kenny, Renny, Denny and Jenny. Willie worked raising cattle and custom harvesting for 39 years. He was a member and supporter of the Roosevelt First Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Willie’s survivors include a daughter: Jenny Loveless and husband Paul, Lawton, OK; son: Renny Jackson and wife Karla, Roosevelt; grandchildren: Dustin Jackson and wife Shanda, Roosevelt, Travis Jackson and wife Laura Leigh, Roosevelt, Will Loveless, Mustang, OK, Brian Loveless and wife Lacey, Tulsa, OK, Natalie Harris and husband Steve, Highland Village, Texas and five great-grandchildren: Chase Jackson, Carson Jackson, Luke Jackson, Tucker Jackson, and Makenna Harris and a sister: Maxine Rhoads and husband, Gene, Tahlequah, OK.

He was preceded in death by his wife: LaVeta Jackson, sons: Denny Jackson and Kenny Jackson, parents: Francis Carrol & Lona (Brannon) Jackson, eight siblings: Aaron Jackson, Blanche Caskey, Leo Jackson, Marie Courtney, Vernie Jackson, Eva Jean Hayes, Mozelle Schultz, and Leta Faye Walkeyemer.
