Wanda Fern Collins
Wanda Fern Collins passed from this life on February 27, 2021, at home with family by her side at age 74. She was born on June 22, 1946, to Riley Bailey Howard and Florence (Purcell) Howard on a small farm by Tipton. She grew up in the Mountain Park area. She married the love of her life Donny Wayne Collins on January 23, 1965, on the farm by Tipton. Don and Wanda were married 56 years and were blessed with two children, Mark and Cheryl. Wanda was a homemaker, caregiver and enjoyed lifting the spirits of the residents of the local nursing homes. She was a member of the Community Church in Frederick where she loved to sing. Wanda loved to work out in the garden and enjoyed the birds. But most of all she loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Riley and Florence Howard; brothers: Herschel, Joe Allen, Johnny, Lesley, Stanley, Riley and Allen; her sister Betty Glover and granddaughter Natosha Key. Wanda is survived by her husband Donny of the home; son Mark Collins and wife Karen of Quinlan, Texas; her daughter Cheryl Cain of Elmer; two brothers: Lloyd Howard of Holdenville and Jimmy Howard of Chickasha; grandchildren: Christopher Vorron, Detroit, Michigan, Joshua Vorron, Paris, Texas, Catherine Miller, Caddo Mills, Texas, Gregory Cain, Altus, Derrick Cain, Elmer; 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Joshua Finley and Kaitlyn Finley of Elmer along with a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services for Wanda were Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the Tipton Cemetery.
