Lady Cyclones win 2 of 5 at Hobart tourney

Anadarko 16

The Snyder Lady Cyclones met the Anadarko Lady Warriors in their first game of the Maggie Walker Tournament at Hobart last Thursday. Anadarko went home with the win with a score of 16-0.

The Lady Warriors started off their lead in the bottom of the first putting seven runs on the board. They scored another 8 runs in the second inning.

The Anadarko pitcher went 3 innings allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out one and walking one.

Sydney Stephens toed the rubber for the Lady Cyclones. She surrendered 13 runs on eight hits and walked three.

Snyder had two hits in the game. Skyler Smith and Cadence Treadwell each got one hit for their team. Smith and Wyndy Cory were both caught stealing in their attempt to get the Lady Cyclones on the board.

Sentinel 5

The Snyder Lady Cyclones defeated the Sentinel Lady Bulldogs 6-5 in their second game of the tournament on Thursday thanks to a walk-off walk. The game was tied at five with Snyder Cyclones Varsity batting in the bottom of the fourth when Hayley Bartlett drew a walk, scoring one run.

Snyder earned the victory despite allowing Sentinel to score three runs in the first inning.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Lady Cyclones tied things up at four when Ciera Rivera grounded out, scoring one run. They four runs in the inning. Their offense in the inning came from Cadence Treadwell, Rivera’s ground out, and a double by Sydney Stephens.

Skyler Smith took the win for Snyder. The righthander went four innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out five.

Ayvree Hamblin was on the rubber for Sentinel Varsity Lady Bulldogs. She surrendered four runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings. Kirah Keesee threw two innings in relief.

Stephens led Snyder Cyclones Varsity with two hits in two at bats.

Hobart 12

The Snyder Lady Cyclones watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-2 loss to the Hobart Lady Cats in their third game of the tournament.

The Lady Cyclones struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Hobart, giving up 12 runs.

Jacy Funkhouser led things off on the rubber for the Lady Cats. The fireballer went three innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out two and walking one.

Kiyah Cullar was on the rubber for Snyder. The righthander surrendered three runs on three hits over one-third of an inning. Sydney Stephens threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Ciera Rivera led the Lady Cyclones with two hits in three at bats.

Snyder 6

Duke 8

The Snyder Lady Cyclones lost the lead late in an 8-6 defeat to the Duke Lady Tigers in game four of the Hobart tournament on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Duke batting in the top of the fourth when they scored one run on an error.

The Lady Cyclones collected seven hits and the Lady Tigers had five in the high-scoring affair.

In the bottom of the third inning, Snyder tied things up at five when Sydney Stephens singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Corky Hall led things off on the rubber for Duke. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out two.

Skyler Smith started the game for the Lady Cyclones. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing five hits and eight runs while striking out two.

Kiyah Cullar led Snyder with two hits in three at bats. The ladies stole seven bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Ciera Rivera led the way with two.

Snyder 16

Granite 12

The Snyder Lady Cyclones won big over the Granite Lady Panthers in a 16-12 victory for their final game of the tournament on Saturday.

Snyder had a high scoring first inning putting 12 points on the scoreboard. Skyler Smith singles on a fly ball to the right fielder, Cadence Treadwell singles on a ground ball to the left fielder, Ciera Rivera doubles on a ground ball to the right fielder, Smith singles again on a fly ball to the center fielder, Hayley Bartlett singles on a line drive to the left fielder, Kiyah Cullar singles on a fly ball to the left fielder, and Ivy Shelton singles on a fly ball to the left fielder.

The second inning had Treadwell, Rivera, and Wyndy Cory with singles, and Smith with a triple.

The Lady Cyclones saw three pitchers on the mound. Sydney Stephens had 1 strike-out and 4 walks, Kiyah Cullar gave up 4 walks, and Cadence Treadwell had 2 strike-outs and no walks.
