Julia Ann Gaitan

Funeral service for Julia Ann "Julie" Gaitan, age 59, of Frederick, were Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, Frederick, with Rev. Enos Flores officiating. Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Julie passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Julia Ann Gaitan was born June 24, 1962, in Altus, to Pete Patina and Margaret G. (Gonzales) Gaitan. She attended Frederick Public Schools, graduating from Frederick High School in 1979. She was united in marriage to Thomas Castro in Frederick. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder.
Julie enjoyed the outdoors; growing up she was known as a tomboy where she enjoyed playing baseball and football. She was an avid O.U. Sooners and Dallas Cowboys Fan. Her family was her life, and she was always the life of the party. She was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana Baptist Church in Frederick.

She is survived by two sons: Julio Gaitan and Thomas Castro Jr. both of Frederick; one daughter: Isabel Castro of Frederick; one granddaughter: Alexis Gaitan of Davidson; her husband: Thomas Castro of Frederick; one step-daughter: Olivia Castro Carrilio and her husband Manuel of Wichita Falls, Texas; three brothers: John Ray Gaitan and his wife Teresa, Cecil Gaitan, and Mickey Gaitan and his wife Margie all of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sisters: Linda Master and Margaret Ann Gaitan and her companion Humberto Trejo all of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister-in-law, Mary Gaitan of Victoria, Texas; a special friend, Wilma Avalos of Wichita Falls, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Margaret Gaitan; and one brother, Pete Gaitan Jr.
