Curtis M. Nunnally, 86, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Roswell, New Mexico.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at South Park Cemetery. Forest Metcalf conducted the service.

On November 10, 1934, Curtis was born to Curtis and Ruth Nunnally in Mt. Park. He was the youngest and only baby boy of five siblings. In 1952, Curtis graduated from Snyder High School in Snyder,Curtis married Lucille Metcalf Nunnally on May 20, 1959. They just celebrated sixty-two years together.

Curtis was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a mechanic for many years, working on road construction until his retirement. After retirement, Curtis learned how to make stained glass. He made many beautiful pieces. In Curtis’ spare time, he also loved to play 42 (Dominos) shell pecans, work the crossword puzzle in the newspaper every morning, watching football, especially the Oklahoma Sooners, as well as watching and going to car races.

Curtis loved to cook, and he made some mean Green Chili Stew. He was one of the biggest jokers there was. Curtis loved everyone.

Those left to honor Curtis’ memory are his wife, Lucille, of the family home; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Sandy Nunnally of Broken Arrow; daughter Gayla and husband George Getchell, Roswell, New Mexico; his pride and joy, granddaughter Chelsea Getchell of Rio Rancho New Mexico; sister, Marjorie Harness of Pacific Palisades, California; sister-in-law Nancy Metcalf of Roswell New Mexico; granddogs: Louie, Bentley, and Addy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Curtis is preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Ruth Nunnally, sisters: Wilma Kyser, Janet Wilson, and Aileene Garrett.

Curtis was a wonderful husband, father, grandad, brother, uncle, and friend.
