Gilbert Alonzo
Gilbert Villa Alonzo, 67, of Roosevelt, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2021, in Oklahoma City. He was born on July 28, 1954, to Julian and Manuela (Villa) Alonzo in San Antonio, Texas.
Gilbert grew up and attended school in Roosevelt, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1975. He started working for Dolese in 1984 as a Loader Operator and has worked there for 43 years. Gilbert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved going out to eat, but most of all he loved his grandchildren. Gilbert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children: Adam Alonzo and wife Kelsey, Piedmont, Brian Alonzo and wife Samantha, Piedmont, Matthew Alonzo and wife Stephanie, Newalla; grandchildren: Addison, Kolby, Callen, Gavin, Holland, Ellisyn, Gentry and Nash; siblings: Dolores Price and husband Fred, Granite, Ruth F. Cardona, Roosevelt, Emma Shandor and husband Phill, Roosevelt, Julian Alonzo and wife Gina, Edmond, Andy Alonzo and wife Suzy, Corpus Christi, Texas, Margie Jackson and husband John, Granite; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Thomas Alonzo, sisters: Simona Juarez, Maria Coronado and Minerva Aguilar, Baby Junior, and grandson: Arrow Alonzo.
A funeral service was held Friday, October 22, 2021, in the First Baptist Church of Roosevelt. Rosary was October 21, 2021, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
Interment was in Roosevelt Cemetery.
