Marion Zumbro Jack, 72, Snyder, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in Oklahoma City. She was born August 10, 1948, in Altus at the Mabry Clinic in the NBC Bank building to HD and Leona Tabb Zumbro. Being the youngest of four, her dad called her “Blondie.” Marion grew up on an irrigated cotton farm, complete with chickens, sheep and milk cows and a large garden, one mile south of Altus. As a member of First Baptist Church of Altus, she participated in many youth groups and the youth choir. She was in the vocal music department of Altus High School for three years and was a member of Pep Club. This group followed the football and basketball teams to home and away games. She was Mr. Buel Garvin’s Biology assistant and was in the Biology club as well as Spanish club. While in school she also had a part in a humorous play, “Quiet Summer.” She graduated in the Class of 1966. Marion married Jeffrey Clay Jack on May 26, 1978, in Altus. A serious kidney surgery ended her hopes of continuing her path at Oklahoma State University. She briefly worked for the Altus Irrigation District, before going to work for the Altus Medical and Surgical Clinic. She held several positions, worked for many doctors and learned coding. The clinic transitioned into Integris Family Care Clinic. She always helped others with insurance claims, lengthy medical forms and was an active listener for medical problems. Her memory of patients, their families and quirks guided many through tough times. She always had a quick Kleenex, smile, double wink and a hug for you. She retired from the clinic in October of 2010 after working a total of 41 years. Her own medical challenges started that same year. Family and friends enjoyed her legendary cooking, her mother left her many recipes, and her Aunt Edith sent her copies of Southern Living. She loved planning and cooking for special dinners, her creativity and perfectionism in the kitchen was mouth-watering. She also enjoyed sewing and progressed with each new machine she used. She is survived by her husband of the home Jeff Jack of 42 years; two sons and their families, who kept her busy texting and on Facebook: Jay Jack and wife Ashlee of Tipton, Ryder, 16, played football for Snyder, River, 8, Rhett, 6, and Ryan, 5, go to school in Navajo; Clay Jack and wife Robin live in Stillwater and are expecting a baby girl in April; a brother, Hugh Zumbro and wife Kathie of Murray, Utah; a sister Sybil Conley and husband Herb of Hastings, Minnesota; sister-in-law Cornelia Zumbro of Scottsdale, Arizona; sisterin- law Avis and husband Paul Woodward of Ochelata and JoAnn Selvidge of Amarillo, Texas.
