Juanita Young

Graveside service for Juanita Young will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder with Pastor Cynthia Petties-James officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.

Juanita Young, 90, Oklahoma City passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Bethany. She was born November 28, 1931, on the Haining farm five miles east of Snyder. She was the middle daughter of Houston and Eula (Jett) Haining. Juanita attended Snyder schools and graduated from Snyder High School in 1949. She married Douglas Wayne (D.W.) Young on December 27, 1951, and together they had two children, Bertie Young O’Bryant and Rusty Young. D.W. preceded her in death on December 22, 1982. Juanita worked as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Lawton for several years. She and D.W. eventually moved to Oklahoma City where she continued working for the phone company until her retirement.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Bertie Young O’Bryant and grandson Michael Page of San Antonio, Texas, her sister Dovie Mae Ramsey of Snyder, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, sister and brother-in-law Billie and Walter Burt and brother-in-law Bill Ramsey.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Fairlawn Cemetery Association at PO Box 165, Snyder, OK 73566.
