Francisca Garcia Rodriguez

Graveside service for former Tipton resident, Francisca Garcia Rodriguez, age 86, of Fort Cobb, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Tipton Cemetery with Rev. Michael Rodriguez officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.

Mrs. Rodriguez passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital in Carnegie.

Francis was born on October 6, 1935, in Raymondville, Texas to Tranquillino and Elvira (Aguilar) Garcia. She was married to Jose Castro Rodriguez on May 4, 1952, in Harlingen, Texas. She worked for Tipton Senior Center for a number of years, was an author and a homemaker. She was a member of the Spanish Baptist Mission in Frederick.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Elias and Francis Rodriguez of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; son and daughter-in-law: Jose and Vicki Rodriguez of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; daughter: Elba Cotter of Fort Cobb and daughter and son-in-law: Bill and Eva Newton of Yukon; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose Castro Rodriguez; siblings, Julia, Nico, Chava, Rosa, Jorge and Carmen and a son-in-law, Steve Cotter.
