Ronnie Houston Russell

Memorial service for Ronnie Houston Russell, age 78, of Tipton were held Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Tipton with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Russell passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, in Mangum.
Ronnie Houston Russell was born on May 7, 1943, in Tipton to Houston Colbert and Annie Dee (Burkhalter) Russell. He attended Tipton Public School and graduated from Tipton High School in 1963. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. In 1985, Ronnie married Betty Alice Wayland in Altus. He enjoyed working with wood and fishing. Ronnie had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching OU football.
He is survived by one son, Shawn Russell of Cheyenne; one daughter, Shera Pratt of Tipton; two stepchildren: Sandy Dowding of Tipton and Kevin Riechert of Gould; his siblings: Mary Couch and her husband Copper of Bokchito and Joe Russell of Tipton; one grandson, Houston Garett Ricky Dean of Frederick; numerous step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Annie Russell; and his wife Betty Russell on January 8, 2022.
