Reva Joyce Harlan

Funeral service for Reva Joyce Harlan, 82, of Tipton, will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Tipton with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will be at Tipton Cemetery, under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Harlan passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at her home in Tipton.

Reva Joyce (Hoyle) Harlan was born February 17, 1940, in Tipton, to Manuel Oliver and Oda Quay (Michael) Hoyle. She attended school in Tipton, Laing and Lawton. She and John Marion Harlan were united in marriage in Altus.
Mrs. Harlan worked at Centra Leather Goods in Frederick for ten years and in 1972, she began working as a reservation clerk for Altus Air Force Base. She retired in 1994 after working in that capacity for twenty-two years. Reva loved spending time with her family, as they were a very important part of her life. One of her favorite pastimes was listening to music, for she believed that music soothed the soul.

She is survived by her three daughters: Regina Lynn Harlan of Tipton, Lea Ann Johns and her husband Donnie of Owasso, Dana Marie Langer and her husband Phillip of Ennis, Texas; two brothers: Gary Oliver Hoyle of Holliday, Texas and James Michael Sims; seven grandchildren: Kristy De La Cruz, Shana De La Cruz, Ryan Johns, Brandon Johns, Holly Robertson, Travis Langer and Reagan Langer; five great-grandchildren, Gavin Elix, Maniyah De La Cruz, Noah Manuel De La Cruz, Graham Robertson, Whit Robertson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Hoyle and Oda Quay Sims; and one sister Patsy Jean Woods.
